Morocco's Foreign Minister describes election of a new executive authority in Libya step towards achieving stability.

Rabat, 7 February, 2021 (Lana) - Moroccan Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita considered the election of the new executive authority in Libya an important step in the direction of unifying institutions and supporting stability.  

Bourita said in a press conference on the occasion of the 34th ordinary session of the African Union summit, held by video call, Sunday, that his country welcomes the election of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, which was held in Geneva, under the auspices of the United Nations, a temporary executive authority, promising to work with it for the success of the electoral elections, scheduled for the end of this year.

 In his speech, Bourita congratulated the new members of the Libyan Presidency Council, as well as the Prime Minister, Abdel Hamid Dabaiba, stressing that his country considers that creating this new institution would strengthen the executive authority in carrying out the tasks and duties that the Libyan people are expected from. He also indicated that Morocco considers the matter to be an important step in the direction of unifying institutions, supporting stability, responding to the daily needs of Libyans, and creating conditions for the organization of the next elections scheduled for December 24, 2021.
