National Libyan Gathering of Scholars and Elders Urge People to Rally Behind New Government.

Tripoli, 7 February 2021(Lana) The National Libyan Gathering of Scholars and Elders has congratulated the people of Libya the election of a new government which brought an end to division and war in the country.

The Gathering appealed, in a statement issued in the capital Tripoli yesterday, for unity and for all those who committed crimes against Libyans to be brought to Justice.

The Gathering demanded that the new Government strive to bring an end to the suffering of the general public.

It called on all Libyans to rally behind the new government, to achieve what it had promised including the referendum on the constitution and the general elections in the designated time.

The Gathering also called on the new government to seek to protect the national identity of Libya and the status of moderation for which the Libyan people had been known for generations.
