Algeria welcomes election of executive authority in Libya, and rejects all forms of interference in its affairs.

Algeria, 7 February, 2021 (Lana) - The Algerian government welcomed the election of the new executive authority in Libya, expressing its hope that this step would contribute to ending the state of division and uniting ranks in Libya in preparation for the important electoral benefits at the end of this year.  

A statement by the Algerian Foreign Ministry stressed Saturday, that the government is ready to cooperate with the new President of the Presidency Council and the unified government in order to achieve security, stability and the aspirations of the brotherly Libyan people.

 The statement expressed Algeria's firm solidarity with the Libyan people and its rejection of all forms of interference in Libyan internal affairs.

The Algerian Foreign Ministry expressed its hope that this positive step would contribute to ending the state of division and uniting ranks in Libya in preparation for the important electoral elections at the end of this year.

 It also renewed its continuous support for the peaceful efforts aimed at establishing peace and stability in this brother country, according to a comprehensive approach aimed at protecting the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Libya.
