Stephanie Williams: Elections of Libyan Executive Authority in Geneva were marked by transparency, and everyone accepted their results at home and abroad.

Tripoli, 6 February, 2021 (Lana) Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Williams affirmed that the Libyan Executive Authority elections that took place in Geneva were characterized by transparency and that everyone accepted their results at home and abroad.

In a press conference held in Geneva, Stephanie called on the elected executive authority to fulfill the deadline for the parliamentary and presidential elections on December 24, 2021, in addition to implementing the constitutional arrangements.

Williams called for supporting the economic, military and economic tracks, welcoming the positive results of the work of the 5 + 5 Joint Military Committee, especially the quest to open the coastal road and make sure that foreign forces leave the country.

 Williams stressed the speedy determination of the sovereign positions by the House of Representatives and the state and for the prime minister to form his government before the lapse of 21 days from its election and to present it to the House of Representatives to obtain confidence no later than another 21 days.

Williams expressed hope that the new government will work to serve the citizens and improve their living conditions, which are years of problems and hardships.
