American and Danish ambassadors to Libya discuss efforts to support upcoming elections in Libya.

Tripoli, 2 February 2021 (Lana) - The US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, discussed, Tuesday, with the Ambassador of Denmark to Libya, Julie Pruzan-Jorgense, the ongoing cooperation in Libya, including support for municipal elections and the Central Committee for Municipal Council Elections.  

The American embassy said in a statement on its official "Facebook" that the two ambassadors discussed during the meeting the efforts made to support the national elections scheduled to be held on December 24, 2021.

The embassy added in its statement that Ambassador "Norland" thanked Denmark for its large contribution of 800 thousand US dollars as part of the bilateral agreement between the two countries to support local elections in Libya, in addition to a contribution of one million dollars made by Denmark in 2018.

 The US ambassador, Richard Norland, described the efforts of Denmark as an excellent example of the international community’s support for the political process in Libya.
