Security Directorates start Calculating Foreign Labourers in the Libyan Market.

Tripoli, 1 February 2021(Lana) The Ministry of Employment Head of Operation and Employment said security directorates across the country have started calculating the number of foreign labourers in the Libyan market.

The Ministry of Employment Communication Office quoted the director as saying foreign labourers in Libya are three categories; documented which is those who have work permits and who were mostly brought into the country by companies or individuals, the second category, those with documents but did not enter the country legally and those constitute the bulk of the random workers which we are targeting for restructuring, the third are those who have no documents and often withhold even their nationality.

The calculation is being conducted under supervision of the Foreign Labour calculation committee in accordance with the Presidency Council Decision No. 640 of 2020, the Office said.
