Pensioners Syndicates Stage Protest to press for Demands.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 1 February 2021 (Lana) Pensioner syndicates from various cities have organized a protest in front of the Government of National Accord headquarters here on Monday to press for their demands.
Members of the syndicates from cities such as Misrata, Bani Walid, Zletin, Khoms, Tripoli, Zwara, Sabrata, Surman, Gharyan and Mselata gathered in front of the Government headoffice in downtown Tripoli, demanding that it execute decision No. 377 of 2019, which allocates the sum of LD 500 million in settlement of arrears for the retired people.
The members also called for a mechanism to be put in place to execute the insurance payment overdue and a 2014 decision for pension increase and dispensation of the bonus of spouses and children.
The Head of the Syndicate said the protest comes as members exhausted all means to push for their rights.
