U.S. Embassy Congratulates Libyans on Nomination of Candidates for a New Unified Interim Government

Tripoli, 31 January 2021(Lana)  The U.S. Embassy in Tripoli has congratulated Libyans on transparent nomination process of candidates to serve in the new and unified interim government, which it said will lead Libya to elections on December 24, 2021.'

' We strongly support the Political Dialogue Forum delegates as they gather on February 1-5 in Geneva to vote among these candidates, said  the US Ambassador Richard Norland.

 'Threats to shut down Libya’s energy sector, and attempts to divert Libya’s wealth for partisan agendas are incompatible with the demands of the Libyan people for change, he said.
