Washington, January 30, 2021 (Lana) - On Friday, the UAE expressed its willingness to cooperate with the United Nations Security Council and Washington, with the aim of reaching a peaceful solution to the conflict in Libya.

This new Emirati position came less than "24" hours after the US demanded, during a session of the UN Security Council, external parties, including the UAE, to respect Libyan sovereignty, and to end all military interventions in Libya immediately.

The representative of the Emirates at the United Nations, "Lana Nusseibah," said in a statement that there is an urgent need for renewed diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict in Libya, according to "AFP."

Nusseibah stated that Abu Dhabi is ready to work closely with all members of the Security Council, including the administration of US President "Joe Biden", to reach a peaceful settlement of the Libyan crisis.

The UAE delegate said, "Her country has a firm belief that diplomatic and political solutions are the only path to ending the conflict in Libya, and that she welcomes the Security Council's call for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Libya, considering that foreign interference" must stop now. "

She considered that the most important priority in the Libyan crisis is to maintain and support the ceasefire agreement, which has been in effect since it was signed by the parties to the conflict last October.
