New York, January 30, 2021 (Lana) - The United Nations announced, on Friday, that the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum will hold a round of talks in Geneva, between 1 and 5 February.

This came in a press conference held by the spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephane Dujarric, at the organization's headquarters in New York.

Dujarric stated that the Acting United Nations Envoy to Libya, Stephanie Williams, will be the one who will manage the sessions of the forum.

He added, "It is expected that the forum will vote on the candidates for membership of a three-member presidential council and the prime minister, according to the roadmap adopted by the Libyan Dialogue Forum in Tunis in mid-November."

A forum for dialogue for a Libyan politician held a session on the fifteenth of last November in the capital Tunis under the auspices of the UN, which culminated in setting "24th" of December 2021, as the date for holding parliamentary and presidential elections in the country.

After that, the forum held several rounds, and on January 19, the temporary executive authority selection mechanism was approved.

After the approval, the United Nations announced a one-week period for submitting nominations, which ended on the 28th of the same month.
