Maitiq discusses with Lavrov in Moscow developments in the political dialogue.

Tripoli, January 30, 2021 (Lana) - Vice President of the Presidency Council Ahmed Maitiq met on Friday, in the Russian capital, Moscow, Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

The meeting reviewed the recent developments on the Libyan arena and discussed the developments of the dialogue sponsored by the United Nations through the dialogue committee held in Tunis and the results of the 5 + 5 committee. The two parties expressed their support for the 5 + 5 committee for their efforts and urged them to continue holding their meetings for a settlement.

The two sides also discussed government programs to trigger the stalled projects, and they are expecting Russian companies to play a major role for these projects.

The Russian Foreign Minister expressed his hope for a comprehensive solution, given that the current time is most likely to reach solutions and a unified national government that enjoys regional and international support, and that the international community will only support the solutions that the Libyans accept.
