A’ammari discusses with the Italian ambassador bilateral relations.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, January 26, 2021 (Lana) - Member of the Presidential Council, Mohamed A’amari Zayed, met with the Italian ambassador to Libya, "Josini Buccino," today Tuesday, where the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.
The meeting, which was held at the Prime Minister’s Office, dealt with developments in the current political situation and the chances for the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum to succeed in reaching the formation of a new executive authority.
The two parties also discussed ways to implement the memorandum of understanding regarding the teaching of the Italian language in secondary education, as an optional language, and agreed to form a joint committee to oversee the program, and train Libyan teachers in one of the well-known Italian universities in this field, when the epidemiological situation in Italy improves.
The two sides stressed the importance of continuing the meetings to implement what was agreed upon with regard to cooperation in the field of education, in addition to joint coordination regarding the current political developments.
It is noteworthy that the Government of National Accord signed at the beginning of last December a memorandum of understanding with Italy, paving the way for the inclusion of the Italian language in the curricula of the secondary stage, starting from the academic year 2020/2021.
