Ministry of Defense Issues Orders to its Forces to Take Control of Situation and Monitor any Attempt to Cause Unrest in Tarhuna.

 Tripoli, 25 January, 2021 (Lana) - GNA Ministry of Defense revealed that the Military Prosecutor issued an arrest warrant for more than 3000 members of those who joined the so-called Ninth Brigade and involved in mass grave crimes in Tarhuna. 

 The ministry said in a statement that the scene that we saw on Friday evening at Martyrs Square of families bidding farewell to their loved ones -the victims of mass graves- always reminds us of our duty towards them until they obtain their rights, and restitution, pursue criminals and bring them to justice sooner or later.

The Ministry expressed its regret at what described as cases of revenge against the backdrop of these crimes, voicing its condemnation of such actions and that it will not tolerate them, and will tack firm actions if revenge acts occur.

In a statement, the ministry stated that it had issued orders to the forces of the Ministry of Defense in Tarhouna to control the situation and monitor any attempt to foment trouble in the city, and to refer any transgressor to the relevant authorities to take due procedure against them.

The Ministry affirmed that the February Revolution was launched to do justice to the oppressed, and that as it sympathizes with the families of the victims, and sends condolences to their families, it calls on the Libyan judiciary to reassure the bereaved that their rights will be uphold.
