US Embassy in Libya: It is time to move beyond conflict and corruption that facilitated current situation in Libya.

Tripoli, 16 January 2021 (Lana) - The United States of America welcomed Saturday, the progress made by the advisory committee of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum towards choosing a new interim executive authority.  

The US embassy in Libya said in a statement on its official Facebook account that the work of the advisory committee of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum reflects the clear demands of the Libyan people that the time has come to overcome the conflict and corruption that facilitated the status quo has .

In its statement, the embassy called on all parties to work urgently and in good faith through the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum to form a new unified government, whose mission will be hold national elections on December 24 of this year, provide public services, and transparently manage and distribute Libya's wealth for the benefit of all citizens.

In its statement, the American embassy called on the Libyan people and the international community to use all available tools to prevent any attempts to obstruct this political transition. The embassy commended the efforts of the Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Stephanie Williams, her exceptional leadership and commitment to helping Libya achieve a more secure and prosperous future.
