Col.
Pulbished on:
Mohamed Qanono questions UNSMIL, saying 'we do not accept
negotiations under rifle bayonets and air defenses of mercenaries'.
TRIPOLI, 12 November, 2020 (Lana) The Libyan army spokesperson,
Colonel Mohamed Qanono has warned the UN Support Mission in Libya
that what is happening so far in the meetings of the Military
Commission (5+5) is not aimed at a permanent ceasefire.
Colonel "Qanono" attributed his warning to several points or
questions he posed to UNSMIL and said that they are very important: .
First: - Why does the plane of the Military delegation of the
Government of National Accord land 170 km east of Sirt despite the
presence of two airports in Sirt, the venue of the meeting?
Secondly, why individuals outside members of the committee were
imposed and granted a platform to moderate the meeting despite the
many reservations about their criminal record being from the first
circle of the "war criminal Haftar", which we affirm our rejection of
its existence in form, essence or acting in any final form of the
current dialogue negotiations, he said?
Third: - Military movements in the vicinity of Sirt to Al-Jafra do
not suggest the intention of evacuating the area from armed militias
and UNSMIL is not ignorant of that? "What happened in Sirt cannot be
considered a step forward, but it is a step in the air, if not
backwards," according to Burkan ALGhadhab Website.
If the situation is not rectified, we are afraid to say that the
negotiations could not bear fruits.
We do not want such practices to be a reason to derail the path of
the peaceful dialogue. But we do not accept to negotiate under rifle
bayonets and air defenses of mercenaries.
