Tripoli, October 27, 2020 (LANA) - The Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of the Government of National Accord strongly denounced the
statements and official speech of the French President that harms
French relations with the Islamic world.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said through its spokesperson,
"Mohamed Al-Qeblawi," that the French president's insulting
statements of the noble Prophet fuels feelings of hatred for the sake
of partisan political gains.
He reminded the French President of the declaration of the
European Court of Human Rights issued in 2018 that insulting the
noble Prophet does not fall under freedom of expression, noting that
the extremism taken by the French President as a peg for his insult
has nothing to do with the Islamic religion, and extremist groups do
not represent this religion.
