Tripoli, October 20, 2020 (LANA) - The Minister of Justice of the Government of National Accord received today, Tuesday morning, the head of the European Union mission assigned to assist in the integrated management of borders in Libya (UPAM) "Peter Sebastian". The meeting that took place at the Ministry's office was attended by the Director of Relations and Cooperation Department at the Ministry, the Director of the Higher Judicial Institute, the Head of the Judicial Expertise and Research Center and the Director of the Forensic Medicine Department. Discussing the technical cooperation existing between the two sides, which includes raising the institutional capacity of the Higher Judicial Institute,supporting the General Advocacy Department, supporting the capabilities of the Judicial Expertise and Research Center, and other programs. The minister appreciated the role of the European mission in enhancing cooperation and supporting the Ministry of Justice in the development of the justice sector, and stressed that the ministry's priority is currently to provide technical support to the Forensic Medicine Department, especially related to DNA techniques and analysis to help reveal the identity of the bodies extracted from collective graves.
