Berlin, October 6, 2020 (LANA) - German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas
said, "There is cautious optimism" about finding a solution to the
crisis in Libya.
This came in a statement he made yesterday, Monday, after his
participation in a ministerial conference on Libya sponsored by the
United Nations and Germany, via video technology.
Maas explained that the conference discussed the details of the
Libyan crisis and the steps that must be taken in the future to bring
stability to this country, indicating that there are indications on
both sides of the conflict in Libya, to move from the military logic
to the political logic.
He added that the solution to the Libyan crisis needs a long time,
noting that the conference held yesterday is considered a short step
towards a solution, calling for commitment to the pledges made during
the Berlin conference on Libya, criticizing in this context the
continuation of some parties providing weapons to the Libyan parties.
