US Ambassador to Libya: Hurghada Talks Evidence of Success of UN-Led Process.

Tripoli, 1 October 2020(Lana) US Ambassador to Libya Richard Norland said security talks between Libyan parties in the Egyptian city of Hurghada was an evidence of the success of the UN-led effort to end the crisis in Libya. This came in a tweet by the Ambassador following the conclusion of the 2 day talks on Wednesday. However, the UN Support Mission in Libya UNSMIL has issued a statement in which it said delegations comprising Army and Police Officers representing the two parties to the conflict in Libya have concluded talks in the Egyptian city Hurghada on September 29 with important recommendations. The mission said pressing security and military issues, including arrangements in an area to be defined in a later stage within the framework of 5+5 Joint Military Committee talks were addressed, UNSMIL said in a report posted to its SMS page and seen by the Libyan news agency. =Lana=
