Tunisia, September 30, 2020 (LANA) - Sources from the United
Nations Support Mission in Libya confirmed that the Libyan-Libyan
military talks will be resumed next week after a meeting in Egypt,
and the mission expressed its hope that this would pave the way for a
permanent ceasefire.

Reuters quoted the mission's sources as saying (that the talks held
in Egypt dealt with confidence-building measures, security
arrangements and the role of the Petroleum Facilities Guard, which is
supposed to be based on protecting the infrastructure of the oil
sector and is not linked to private agendas) and that the meeting
concluded with a set of recommendations to be presented to the
Military Committee including: (Immediately release everyone who is
detained on ID without any conditions or restrictions, and take
urgent measures to exchange detainees due to military operations and
to expedite the opening of air and land transport lines).

The United Nations accuses countries, including countries that have
formally supported their efforts to reach a ceasefire, of violating
the arms embargo.
