New York, September 24, 2020 (LANA) - The President of the Presidency
Council, "Fayez Al-Sarraj," said that the Government of National
Accord cooperated a lot with the United Nations and had always proven
that it was an advocate of peace and responded to the outcomes and
decisions of the Berlin Conference.
In a speech delivered today, Thursday, to the 75th session of the
General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, Al-Sarraj
indicated that the project of militarization of the state, which was
supported by several countries and mercenaries, is unacceptable and
affects the sovereignty of the Libyan state, calling on the countries
supporting the other party to reconsider their decision and deal with
the reconciliation government.
Al-Sarraj stressed the necessity of holding presidential and
legislative elections in the country because it would end the
legitimacy crisis afflicting Libya, calling on the international
community to help Libyans implement this entitlement.
