Audit Office Warns Against Dangers of Offering Subsidized Assistance to Confront Covid 19.

Tripoli, 9 September 2020(Lana) The Audit Office has warned public bodies against dangers of providing subsidized assistance to confront Covid 19 without coordination with the ad hoc higher committee. The Head of the Audit Office Khalid Shekshek said actions by some public bodies within the framework of social responsibility could result in duplicity of spending and mis-management of the funds, and possible use of the donations to pay for fake purchases in service of personal interests. It could sometimes amount to financial violations being part of the state money, Shekshek said. He urged financial controllers at state bodies to adhere to spending in accordance with the law, and to coordinate with the High Committee for Combating CoronaVirus. =Lana=
