A working meeting in Benghazi on how to prevent scourge of drugs in educational institutions.

Benghazi, March 15, 2023 (LANA) - A working meeting was held at the Children's Theater in Benghazi, Tuesday, to train social workers, psychological counselors, and health supervisors, on how to prevent the scourge of drugs in educational institutions. 

The Awareness and Guidance Office of the Agency for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances in the Eastern Region confirmed in statements to reporters of the Libyan News Agency - that the agency relies significantly on the role of media and media workers in conveying such important information in the correct manner, as well as their dissemination of the importance and role of the control agency, that assume the main and important role in raising awareness about this phenomenon.

He explained that, in cooperation with the Office of Social Service and School Health in Benghazi, a working meeting will be organized to train social workers in all schools in the city of Benghazi, to learn how to deal with the spread of this phenomenon, especially in schools.

In her turn, the Director of the Office of Social Service, School Health and Psychological Support, Benghazi, Souad Al-Araibi confirmed - to Libyan News Agency reporter - that "this educational practical meeting came in partnership with the Office of Preventive Affairs, Guidance, Awareness and Information in the Anti-Drug Agency in the Eastern Region, and that is based on seeing a large and frightening spread of drug abuse, especially among students and even female students, especially in the secondary and preparatory stages.

She stressed the need to take greater measures and steps to try to combat this phenomenon, by training social workers in schools, where they will be trained to deal with how to combat this phenomenon and start giving lectures to their students.
