Al-Dbaiba: We are determined to make power interconnection with Europe

Tripoli, March 07, 2023 (LANA) - The head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid al-Dbaiba, said that the convening of the second Libyan-German economic forum reflects the interest of businessmen and officials in the Federal Republic of Germany and Libya's role in strengthening and consolidating prospects for joint cooperation between the two friendly countries.

In his speech at the opening of the forum, Tuesday, in Tripoli, Al-Dbaiba expressed his government's keen interest in supporting all German partnerships and capabilities to promote development in Libya and keen interest to benefit from German experiences for cooperation in all fields and support German businessmen to benefit from their expertise.

The prime minister said, "We are looking forward to investing in the field of energy and alternative energy, and we are determined to power interconnection with Europe, because Libya has the ingredients in the field of solar energy and hydrogen energy, as well as real investment in the field of oil and gas."

Al-Dbaiba emphasized that the Government of National Unity strongly supports the private sector, which is the backbone of development in Libya in the future, saying that Libya is a peaceful country - and it cannot be a source of terrorism.

The Prime Minister announced that the train of stability in Libya has started, calling on all companies to return and invest in Libya, praising in this regard the role of German companies in Libya for decades, especially in the field of road construction, energy and other projects.

He also praised the continued Libyan-German programme to welcome Libyan students to study in Germany in various medical and engineering fields.
