Al-Koni appreciates role played by Switzerland in supporting and hosting Political Dialogue Forum,

Tripoli, 14 September, 2022 (Lana) - Representative of the Presidential Council, Moussa Al-Koni, commended the role played by Switzerland in supporting and hosting the rounds of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, with the aim of achieving stability in Libya.

This came during Al-Koni's reception on Tuesday, the Swiss ambassador to Libya, Joseph Ringli, who affirmed his country's support for the efforts of the Presidential Council to achieve national reconciliation, which paves the way for holding elections based on constitutional rule.

 During the meeting, he reviewed the efforts of the Presidential Council in establishing peace, unifying state institutions, and working for the success of the political process, leading to elections that the Libyan people aspire to.

 According to the official website of the Presidential Council, Al-Koni stressed the Presidential Council's tendency to break up centralization, which has exhausted the capital and contributed to the current political impasse, and the need to return to work in the governorate system that was used before 1969 to reduce power disputes.

In turn, the ambassador expressed his country's support for the steps taken by the Presidential Council in the file of national reconciliation and elections, and everything that achieves stability.
