In its first participation, Libya wins membership in the leadership of the International Federation of Youth Hostels.

Tripoli, 3 September 2022 (Lana) Libya was elected to the membership of the leadership of the world's second largest youth organization at the United Nations, the International Federation of Youth Hostels.

This Libyan victory as a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Federation of Youth Hostels came at elections held on Friday as part of the work of the 54th Congress of the Federation held in Doha, and Libya was represented by Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Arabi, Executive Director of the Libyan Youth Hostels Association.

 The conference will run until September 5, with the participation of elite youth hostel leaders around the world.

The Government of National Unity said on its Facebook page that Libya's election to the Board of Trustees of the International Federation of Youth Hostel Associations was "a return of Libyan youth diplomatic life led by the International Federation of Youth Hostels".

On this occasion, Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Al Dabaiba paid tribute to the Libyan delegation from the Ministry of Youth led by FatahAllah Al-Zini, Minister of Youth, for this achievement, which is credited to Libyan youth diplomacy by obtaining membership of the Board of Trustees for the first time since the establishment of the Union in 1932. The Government of National Unity has given special attention to youth organizations and included youth hostels among the priorities of the plan a Return of Life, to maintain and equip their headquarters in various regions of Libya, out of conviction that youth are the building tool, to move Libya forward to stability and prosperity.
