House of Representatives Fact-Finding Committee holds an emergency meeting on recent Tripoli clashes.

 Tripoli, 31 August 2022 (Lana) The Truth Commission on Violations of International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Law of the House of Representatives held an emergency meeting to discuss developments in the situation on what it described as violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law in the recent Tripoli clashes.

 In the meeting it held in the office of the House of Representatives under the chairmanship of MP Youssef al-Aqouri, the committee reviewed some of the data received from various sources on the facts in the Tripoli clashes, including the number of dead, wounded and material damage. It also discussed ways to coordinate with the UN Human Rights Council's Fact-Finding Mission on Libya and other international and local organizations working in the field of monitoring.

The Commission stressed the opening of a sub-file to document violations of international humanitarian law during the clashes, and to compile and analyze the evidence in preparation for its transmission to the competent authorities.

The meeting was attended by member of the committee, the director of the Office of Parliamentary Policy Support and Research of the House of Representatives, "Abdul Wahid Al-Lafi", and member of the Committee and the representative of the House of Representatives at the International Criminal Court, Dr. Salem Al-Ojli.
