Al-Kony assures African delegation of Libya's readiness to provide resources for the return of the Secretariat of the Sahel-Sahra Community ‘SEN-SAD’ to work from permanent headquarters in Tripoli.

  Tripoli, 20 June 2022 (Lana) Vice President of Presidency Council Musa Al Kony met on Monday Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie and Congolese abroad of the Republic of the Congo, Jean-Claude Gakosso, and his delegation, who is on an official visit to Libya.

   According to the Council’s Communication Office Al Kony praised the role of Congo Brazzaville and the African Union, in stabilizing a number of African countries, and said it would be active in supporting Libyan political stability and bringing the political process to safety. Al-Kony also stressed Libya's readiness to provide all resources for the return of the Secretariat of the Sahel-Sahara Community ‘SEN-SAD’to work at its permanent headquarters in Tripoli.

For his part, the Congolese Foreign Minister conveyed compliments of Congolese President Dennis Sassou Nguesso, chairman of the High-Level Committee on Libya to the Presidency Council, and his country's readiness and that of the AU countries to support Libyans to reach political stability that paves the way for elections.

The Congolese Minister stressed that Libya had an active role to play in the African Union and that it would overcome its crisis and regain its place on the African continent and the world.
