Tripoli, May 24, 2022 (LANA) - The Head of the National Unity Government "Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba" affirmed his government's endeavor to launch an initiative to hold elections according to specific dates.
Dabaiba said in a speech during his meeting with a number of candidates for the legislative and presidential elections that their initiative aims to set a date for the parliamentary elections, which will lay the basis for the presidential elections, according to him.
During the meeting, Dabaiba questioned the reasons for delaying the referendum on the draft constitution, stressing that it could be a basis for holding the elections.
The Prime Minister also stressed the role of parties in the House of Representatives, describing it as important and missing at the same time.
