Head of the National Unity Government meets with a number of mayors of municipalities.

Tripoli, May 17, 2022 (LANA) - the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity "Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba" resigned this evening, Tuesday, at the Cabinet Office, a number of mayors of municipalities, in the presence of the Minister of Local Government, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Government for Municipal Affairs, the head of the Municipal Guard, and a number of Directors of departments in the Ministry.

During the meeting, government projects to develop municipalities and implement development projects were followed up.

The Minister of Local Government confirmed that this meeting came without prior arrangement, but came after the unfortunate events that took place in the capital, Tripoli, at dawn today, Tuesday, to emphasize the desire of all municipalities for stability and peace, and the need to return the trust to the people through elections.

 A number of mayors of municipalities also confirmed during this meeting their support for the national unity government and the holding of elections.
