Preparations for Libyan International Forum for Investment and Sustainable Development.

Tripoli, 28 February, 2022 (Lana) - An expanded meeting was held this morning, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to discuss preparations for the convening of the Libyan International Forum for Investment and Sustainable Development, to be held in Tripoli on March 27.

The meeting was attended by the Director-General of the Institute of Planning, Chairman of the Forum and Chairman of the Sustainable Development Committee at the Ministry of Planning, Taher Abul-Hassan, Chairman of the Libyan Business Owners Council Bashir Al-Sadi, Director-General of the Council, Al-Arif Al-Qajiji, and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Union of Arab Exporters and Importers.

The meeting focused on discussing ways of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Planning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Union of Arab Exporters and Importers, and the Libyan Business Peoples Council in making the Libyan International Forum for Investment and Sustainable Development a success because of its importance to the State of Libya.

Last January, the Ministry of Planning announced that the capital, Tripoli, would host the activities of the Libyan International Forum for Investment and Sustainable Development, at the end of next March, with the aim of creating opportunities for local and foreign investors to implement and finance several projects in Libya in an investment manner.

The forum is scheduled to be held from 27 to 31 of next March in the Sports City, and its activities will include an international conference on development and investment, a forum for businessmen, in addition to an exhibition that includes Libyan, Arab and international industries and products in various fields.

 Decision makers, regulatory bodies, commercial banks, investment institutions, companies, the private sector, engineers, experts, specialists, academics, university professors and those interested in the economic sector and sustainable development will participate in the forum's activities.

The forum, which will be held in cooperation with the Union of Exporters and Importers of the Council of Arab Economic Unity in the League of Arab States, and a number of Libyan and Arab economic institutions, comes within the framework of supporting and strengthening the path of sustainable development, driving the wheel of the Libyan economy and contributing to making the future of Libya and future generations.
