 Tripoli, 26 January 2022 (Lana) The U.S. Embassy to Libya reaffirmed that ‘millions of Libyans are ready to vote and decide their future and it is time to respect their will).

 The Embassy stressed, in a tweet, that those competing for Libya’s leadership should bear in mind that the Libyan people will accept only the leadership brought forward by the elections, and the United States welcomes the work of the ceasefire monitors of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, and we look forward to the full activation of the ceasefire monitoring element.

 The embassy also called on all countries to "abide by UN Security Council resolutions 2570 and 2571 as well as support the immediate withdrawal of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya."
