Tripoli, 26 January, 2022 (Lana) - Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephanie Williams, met on Tuesday at Abu Sitta Naval Base in the capital, Tripoli, with the head and members of the 410 Committee for the Demobilization and Reintegration of Armed Formations - Supporting Forces, in state institutions.

 According to Stephanie’s tweet ‘I heard from the head of the committee, Major General Mahmoud bin Yaza the committee’s work and plans to reintegrate armed formations on an individual basis and throughout the country in state institutions as well as in the private sector, and they assured me that Libya is capable of absorbing all Individuals under the DDR programme, but this requires stability and a reduction in foreign interference. "We also discussed ways in which the United Nations can support the work of the Disarmament Committee, including through the exchange of experiences with other countries," she added.
