Tripoli, January 25, 2022 (LANA) - The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Cooperation, Omar Katti, reviewed with the Italian Ambassador, Giuseppe Buccino, the latest preparations for the second meeting of the Libyan-Italian Joint Committee next month, during which several memoranda of understanding will be activated in several sectors mainly electricity and transportation.

During a meeting held today, Tuesday, at the Ministry's headquarters in Tripoli, Katti stressed the need for Italian companies to return to complete the implementation of the coastal road project, especially the Emsaed - Marj sector, in addition to completing the rebuilding of Tripoli International Airport, which will contribute to the return of international airlines to Libya.

He also stressed the importance of Italy playing its role in assisting the Libyan state in combating illegal immigration, especially after expectations of an increase in the number of immigrants as a result of the unstable conditions in some source countries.
