Tripoli, 23 January 2022 (Lana) The Libyan people are eagerly awaiting the election of Libya's first president and that they do not want change through violence and the imposition of power by force, but through elections in which citizens express their free will, to choose the authority that governs them, Vice President of Presidency Council Abdullah Al Lafi said.

"What Libya needs today is a comprehensive, just, secure and rapid change," Al Lafi said in his speech at the Libyan Conference in Support of the Constitution today in Tripoli.

He said that the elections were postponed because no one cared about the success factors through which we wanted to conduct them, so we must all agree that we need to provide these factors and strive in that, and first of all is a constitution that is popularly consulted to be the comprehensive framework for all laws and to describe the limits of powers and periods granted to the authorities.

Secondly provide a minimum security aspect that guarantees the voter and candidate the freedom to compete with honor and protects the country from post-election setbacks and the existence of a national charter to formulate it, he added.

The elites of this country pledge their respect for politicians and the legislature issues it as a temporary constitutional document in which everyone pledges to safeguard the security of the nation, respect its authority and accept the results of honest competition, and national reconciliation without which peace will not last, and stability will not be achieved.

"After a decade of differences and wars, we all realized that no one can impose their will on all Libyans without their participation and incorporation, and what we should all work on is to agree on how to referendum on the constitution, to put the train on the tracks and let us all go towards a bright future," he said.
