Williams and Al-Amamra discuss efforts to end Libyan crisis.

Cairo, 17 January, 2022 (Lana) - The Algerian Foreign Minister, Ramtane Lamamra, and the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on Libya, Stephanie Williams, discussed efforts to end the Libyan crisis.

This came during a meeting between the two sides at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo on Sunday, according to a tweet Lamamra posted on his Twitter account.

 The Algerian minister said that he exchanged with Williams "coordination and support for the efforts of the United Nations to end the crisis in this brotherly country and preserve its unity and sovereignty," declaring at the same time that "the meeting will be renewed soon in Algeria." For its part, the Algerian Foreign Ministry said In a statement, Lamamra met with Williams in Cairo, who expressed her desire to visit Algeria soon to coordinate on prospects for ending the Libyan crisis.

She added that Lamamra welcomed Williams' desire to work in coordination with Algeria. She said that Lamamra reiterated to Williams Algeria's firm position and its permanent support for the Libyan brothers. In order to achieve the necessary consensus to preserve the unity and sovereignty of Libya in light of security and stability.
