Tripoli, 16 January, 2022 (Lana) - Minister of Oil and Gas of the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Aoun, made statements about the recovery of Libyan oil production once again after the end of the siege imposed on the fields in the west and southwest of the country, and the reopening of ports in the east of the country.

Mohamed Aoun told Bloomberg News that Libya's production amounted to about 1.2 million barrels per day, indicating that this was the normal level before the round of closures hit the oil facilities.

Bloomberg Agency said in a report to its correspondent, Salama al-Wardani, that (the closure late last year of the largest Libyan field, the “Sarra” field, which caused a decrease in production by about 350 thousand barrels per day, led to a decrease in daily production, as Libya’s production became 700 thousand barrels per day, which is the lowest over a year ago).
