The Prosecutor General orders imprisonment of First Deputy Prime Minister of the Interim Libyan Government, Minister of Interior.

 Tripoli, 5 January 2022 (Lana) – The General Prosecution Office yesterday ordered Al Siddiq Abdul Karim Karim First Deputy Prime Minister of the Interim Libyan Government and Minister of Interior to be remanded in custody, following an interrogation of facts that caused plunder of a sum of 230,189, 859 million dinars, as a result of violating the rules governing the contracting of the management authority and circumventing the control procedures of the Audit Office by fragmenting direct commissioning procedures issued to eleven companies to one hundred and twenty-one direct assignments to the same companies

The investigation was carried out in accordance with the recommendations of the Attorney General Counsel Al Siddiq Al-Sour and the accused was confronted with the fact of contracting to supply needs lacking quality at high prices and spending the value of the contract to supply them without the permission of the Audit Office.

In the face of the strengthening of the accused's confession of the rest of the evidence before him, most notably the conclusion reached by the experts of the Center for Research and Judicial Experience that the conduct of the accused resulted in the waste of two hundred and thirty million and one hundred and eighty-nine thousand and eight hundred and fifty-nine dinars.
