Brussels, November 27, 2021 (LANA) - European Union spokesperson for the Middle East and North Africa, Luis Miguel Bueno, stressed that the priority in Libya is to hold fair and inclusive elections on December 24, and the full implementation of the ceasefire, which is necessary to restore Libya’s sovereignty and maintain its territorial integrity.

Bueno said in press statements that the Paris conference is an appropriate opportunity to keep Libya at the top of the international agenda during this critical juncture the country is going through, noting that the Paris conference focused on holding the elections within a timetable set by the Electoral Commission starting from December 24, And the implementation of the Military Committee's plan for the withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign forces.

He pointed out that the presence of the European Union in the Paris conference is important to confirm its readiness to mobilize all its means and capabilities to help Libya in this complex and urgent process.
